Read Acts 18 and you will see right away. Paul tries to persuade the Jews in Corinth. He spends all his time preaching, but they started to attack him. he spent 1 1/2 years there trying to teach them. God’s voice told him not to be afraid.
He told them in the court, he was only speaking the truth. They felt he was teaching things contrary to the law. He was beaten in public. He stayed for a little longer, but then he went on to Syria.
Paul went from place to place strengthening all the disciples. A New named Apollos was a learned man and he was very knowledgeable of the Scriptures. He taught accurately about Jesus, thought he knew only the baptism of John. He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately. Apollos became a great disciple, for he vigorously refuted the Jews in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.
